Cubs Soccer
Birth Year: April 1, 2020 – December 31, 2021
Cubs Soccer is the perfect introduction to the sport for young children, focusing on playful, creative ways to develop soccer fundamentals. Through fun drills, children will begin learning essential skills like kicking, dribbling, and passing. The program emphasizes physical activity, coordination, and social interaction in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Each session is designed to keep kids engaged and excited while gradually building their comfort with the ball.
- Practices: Every Saturday, players will rotate through three skill stations for 30 minutes. Each station introduces basic soccer skills through activities that feel more like games than drills, encouraging active participation and enjoyment.
- Break: After the skill stations, players will have a 10-minute snack break to recharge and socialize with their peers.
- Games: A 20-minute game will follow, allowing the children to apply their new skills in a light, informal match that focuses on fun rather than competition.
Note: Parents must remain at the field for the entire session. Drop-offs are not allowed.
Lil Kickers
Birth Year: 2019
Lil Kickers is the next step for children ready for a more structured soccer experience. This program builds on the foundational skills learned in Cubs Soccer and introduces children to more formalized play, helping them transition into organized soccer games. Kicking, dribbling, and passing are reinforced with more focused drills, and players are introduced to simple team strategies, setting the stage for more competitive play in the future.
- Practices: 1x per week for 30 minutes.
- Games: The games consist of four 8-minute quarters.
Note: Parents must remain at the field for the entire session.
U8
Birth Years: 2017 & 2018
The U8 program introduces players to the fundamental aspects of soccer in a more structured, but still enjoyable, format. This stage focuses on the core skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting, as well as understanding the basic rules and positions of the game.
- Practices: 1-2x per week.
- Games: Held every Saturday, the games give players a chance to apply their training in a real-game environment.
Note: Parents must remain at the field for the entire session. Drop-offs are not allowed.
U9/U10
Birth Years: 2015 & 2016
At the U9/U10 level, players begin to experience a higher level of organization and strategy within the game. This program focuses on reinforcing fundamental technical skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, while introducing more advanced concepts like positioning, game tactics, and defensive and offensive play.
- Practices: 2x per week.
- Games: Held every Saturday.
U11/U12
Birth Years: 2013 & 2014
At this level, players build upon their technical foundation by learning more advanced tactical elements of the game. U11/U12 players focus on refining their individual skills while gaining a deeper understanding of game strategy.
- Practices: 2x per week.
- Games: Held every Saturday.
U13/U14
Birth Years: 2011 & 2012 (8th graders born in 2010 register as U14)
At the U13/U14 level, the focus shifts towards more competitive and tactical play. Players are expected to have a strong grasp of technical skills, which they will now use to master the tactical aspects of the game.
- Practices: 2x per week.
- Games: Held every Saturday.
Grizzlies (High School Team)
Birth Years: 2007 through 2010 (9th graders; 8th graders born in 2010 register as U14)
The Grizzlies team plays in the WISL league and is designed for high school players looking to compete at a higher level. This team focuses on preparing players for competitive matches, emphasizing advanced tactics, technical skills, and teamwork.
- Practices: 2x per week.
- Games: Held every Saturday.
